Artist statement

My work exists at the intersection of realism and expressionism, where precise observation meets emotional intuition. Through portraiture and figurative painting, I explore the quiet, often overlooked moments that reveal the depth of our shared humanness. I am drawn to the mundane —not as something insignificant, but as a fertile ground for meaning, memory, and emotional resonance.

Working primarily in oil, I engage with the material slowly and deliberately, allowing the medium’s rich texture and luminosity to mirror the complexity of the inner world. Each brushstroke is a negotiation between control and spontaneity, reflecting the balance I seek between representation and feeling.

The figures I paint are not simply subjects—they are vessels of lived experiences, vulnerability, and presence. Their stillness or subtle gesture becomes a language, one that speaks to the viewer on a visceral level. In this way, my practice becomes a search for connection—between myself, the subject, and those who witness the work.

About

My passion for figurative art has always driven me to explore the intricate nuances of the human form and expression. With a strong commitment to honing my craft, I sought professional training at the Barcelona Academy of Art, where I immersed myself in a rigorous curriculum that emphasized both traditional techniques and contemporary approaches.

My work has been showcased in both national and international exhibitions, allowing me to reach diverse audiences and share my artistic vision. My focus centers on exploring the essence of humanness, utilizing the figure and various objects to convey and evoke deep emotions. Through my art, I aim to bridge the gap between the viewer and the subject, inviting personal reflection and connection. Each piece is a narrative, inviting interpretation and dialogue about our collective experiences, emotions, and the intricacies of the human condition.
